David Gergen Signs Up with CNN as Senior Political AnalystDavid's primary home at CNN will be with Anderson Cooper 360, a premiere CNN program at 10 p.m. in the evening, and he will also be available for other programming on the network. David will also be informally consulting with the AC 360 program about public affairs coverage and will contribute to Anderson's blog site. Bush as a candidate and then worked to help Ronald Reagan in his fall campaign and during the transition. In the next three presidential campaigns, he served as a commentator for the NewsHour on PBS with Robin McNeil and Jim Lehrer, covering the primaries, conventions and fall election efforts. In the 1988 and 1992 campaigns, he partnered up with Mark Shields in weekly Friday night conversations. Since then, he has served during campaigns as an analyst and commentator for a variety of networks, including CNN, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, BBC and others.
